It seems impossible to gather me, a computer and my camera at the same time. Right now I am on a train with my computer, but no camera. Therefor: no photos of the kids in this post.
I am working and really like my new job so far. Right now I am on my way home from a meeting in Stockholm. I will get home at 9 pm and then have to get up at 5 am tomorrow to catch the bus+train to work.
I already realize that this puzzle of work and children will not quite add up. And there is absolutely no such thing as "Lina time" in this equation. Where can I buy more hours? I think I will need approximately 2 hours/day...
Living in an apartment is so much easier and cheaper than living in a house. We have not even moved in yet and I am already overwhelmed by all the decisions and work needing to be done.
Nope. I Think I am more cut out for living in an apartment where all the maintenence is included in a fee and help is always just one phone call away.
Today we went to Lund to visit the kindie(s) where Freja and Dylan will start in December.
Freja took an instant liking to her kindie (and so did I, very nice staff). All the children are small (1-2 years old) and Freja was straight in to pointing at things, playing with the toys and taking the rocking horse for a ride. She was really upset when we were leaving and didn't want to come with us.
Dylan, on the other hand, was very, very shy. At he's kindie they spend a lot of time outdoor and in the backyard they have chickens, parrots, rabbits and sheep! Also, they go on a lot of excursions in the forest. I really liked it there, and I hope Dylan will too...
Wow. Our tiny little baby girl is one year old today! Ok, she's not so tiny any more but she is such a sweet girl. So uch fun and not shy at all. She will walk up to strangers in a restaurant and pull their clothes until she's picked up (I think she wants to get up to eat some of their food).
She face planted the walkway the other day so she's a bit bruised on her big day. But still cute.
We are watching Freja learn new things every day. She is now really good at walking, even with shoes on, and she can get up by herself from sitting down on the ground.
She can imitate the dog and the fish and "peekaboo" is still her favourite game.
Today she figured out how to get on the rocking horse and rock it all by herself.
The weather in Sweden has been a bit crazy in the last few weeks. Crazy in a good way, that is. It has been very warm and sunny for the season and we have been spending a lot of time outside. Today we went to visit some friends and then we went to the beach. Freja went for a "swim". Dylan didn't want to get wet at all, but when he saw how much fun his sister was having he finally decided to dip his feet...
Freja is so funny! She has a bubbly personality and is quite cheerful until something happens to upset her (like, putting shoes on her feet). Then she screams at the top of her lungs to let you know that she is not pleased with the terrible treatment she's given... Wow, we're in for a ride with this one!
She lovs music and is very generous in her interpretation of what is worth listening to. She will put on a big smile and have a dance to any sort of humming that comes across our lips.
Now she's starting to get a hang of the walking. She is quite fast once she gets going, but sits down when she reaches an obstacle.
Dylan is a very proud big brother.
Hello hello from a windy and autumn-like Sweden. We are doing just fine. No flu so far. I think. I did spend a night at a friend's place the day before yesterday and today she was home from work with ... flu! Oh well. I'll cross that bridge when we get there.
I went to Stockholm this week to empty and clean our apartment. Ok, three strong men packed our stuff in boxes and loaded it all on a big truck. And some very hard working men and women cleaned up the place after that. But I fulfilled the hard task of supervising.
It was good to go back to Stockholm. Made me feel 100 % comfortable with our decision to move.
Hmm... Cleaning, cooking, daycare pick-up, washing. We need a lot of help. It all adds up and in the end... read more
